Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Support II Engineer to assist with wireless and mobile device management (MDM) tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting and supporting mobile devices, administering MDM platforms like AirWatch, and working with iOS and Android operating systems. This role will provide hands-on support for end users, assist in mobile infrastructure projects, and document issues using the City's Sherwell Help Desk System.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve mobile device issues related to applications, email, contacts, calendar, data, and carrier connectivity.
- Provide onsite support for iOS devices, including troubleshooting and testing of new updates.
- Administer and maintain the AirWatch MDM platform for enterprise device management.
- Perform telecom moves, adds, and changes (MAC work) for end users.
- Assist in the testing and evaluation of new mobile devices against enterprise email and MDM systems.
- Provide testing support for current and future mobile infrastructure solutions.
- Document issues, resolutions, and troubleshooting steps using the Sherwell Help Desk System.
- Maintain effective communication and collaborate with City employees to ensure seamless mobile support.
- Support IT security initiatives by applying best practices in mobile and computer security.
- Participate in projects and work efforts as assigned.
- Experience troubleshooting iOS and Android devices in an enterprise environment.
- Working knowledge of mobile security concepts and best practices.
- Familiarity with AirWatch (VMware Workspace ONE) or other MDM platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve mobile device issues.
- Experience supporting enterprise email systems and mobile applications.
- Ability to document technical issues and resolutions clearly.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and end users.
- Experience with help desk ticketing systems, preferably Sherwell.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on projects and IT support tasks.
- Prior experience in a telecom, IT support, or enterprise mobility role.
- Knowledge of networking and carrier connectivity related to mobile devices.
- Previous experience working in a government or municipal IT environment is a plus.
