responsibilities:
- The Software Development Engineer uses specialized depth and experience to oversee the writing and modifying of complex software application programs.
- The candidate will maintain these programs by coding, testing, and debugging documents.
- The candidate will be able to articulate clear business objectives aligned to technical specifications and work in an iterative, agile pattern to deliver value based outcomes.
- They must exhibit ownership and accountability over their day to day work deliverables, embrace interacting with all levels of the team and business partners, and raise challenges when necessary.

qualifications:
- Familiarity with producing conceptual prototypes to visualize & demonstrate key concepts and capabilities to stakeholders
- Able to drive and clearly communicate technology solution, design, and architecture framework
- Provide in-depth technical consultation to other developers, clients, business partners and IT to ensure development of efficient application utilizing established standards, procedures and methodologies
- Ability to understand new technologies and trends
- Sets aggressive and measurable goals and drives the team to deliver on those objectives
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate project deadlines
- Ability to work independently as a member of a virtual or geographically dispersed team
skills:
- BS/MS (STRONGLY PREFERRED) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related field OR 8+ years of experience in a related field
- Strong communication skills (written & oral) with the ability to prepare clear and concise technical design, architecture specifications, and other written artifacts
- 6+ years of experience in development using Java/Spring Boot Micro Services
- 5+ years of strong SQL query skills, SQL performance tuning & optimization, and SQL Server stored procedures
- Experience building and knowledge of service oriented architectures (SOA) and web services
- 1+ year of experience with cloud native development and familiarity with cloud technologies like AWS preferred
- Experience with Jira, Git, Jenkins preferred
- Agile development environment preferred
- Perform optimization of website content and code
- Perform technical assessments of platform changes and enhancements
- Engage in production support research and resolution recommendations
- Hands-on experience in testing, debugging and fixing issues
- Execute application architecture by working closely with delivery teams to enable efficient and optimal use of our technology assets
- Ensure adherence to our IT strategy and guidelines
