Responsible for administering various security devices, maintaining security documentation for our systems, verifying that systems are hardened and patched, and monitoring system security controls. Essential Functions
- Administer Carbon Black App Control and Carbon Black Cloud.
- Assist with the administration of Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Application Firewalls, Security Information and Event Management systems (SIEM), Remote User Access (VPN), Web/URL filtering systems, authentication systems and proxy systems, endpoint security systems, DNS, and load balancing systems.
- Implement authorized changes to firewall and network access rules.
- Perform vulnerability scans across all systems on a routine basis, and perform vulnerability scans on all new system installations in accordance with Vulnerability Scans and Configuration Control procedures.
- Audit logs on a routine basis for security events including intrusions, viruses, hackers, spam, security incidents and other malicious activity.
- Assist with the analysis and resolution of security events. Prepare Incident Reports as requested.
- Configure, monitor and recommend adjustments to security monitoring systems such as IDS, IPS and SIEM.
- Install, configure and monitor remote access control systems such as Virtual Private Network (VPN) and SSL-VPN products.
- Install, configure and monitor boundary protection systems such as Web/URL filtering products and proxy systems.
- Routinely review available sources for newly discovered vulnerabilities or newly released patches. Alert the Security Team of new vulnerabilities/patches. Assist System Administrators in securing systems as requested.
- Assist in the creation of application security testing plans to ensure new and changed application programs meet security requirements.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Services or a closely related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Required
- Experience administering Carbon Black products.
- Four to six years of experience in network administration, preferably with Cisco products.
- Experience with administration of a variety of operating systems, such as Windows Server, Linux.
