Our Chicago area client has a contract opportunity for a skilled and security-minded Jamf Engineer to lead the deployment, configuration, and management of Apple device infrastructure with a strong emphasis on Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) principles. This role will be instrumental in enhancing endpoint security, streamlining device lifecycle management, and integrating Jamf with modern identity and access frameworks.

responsibilities:
- Jamf Pro Administration:
- Manage and optimize Jamf Pro for macOS and iOS devices across the enterprise.
- Develop and maintain configuration profiles, policies, and scripts to enforce security baselines.
- Automate device onboarding, patching, and compliance workflows.
- ZTNA Integration & Strategy:
- Design and implement ZTNA solutions (e.g., Netskope, Zscaler, or similar) for Apple endpoints.
- Collaborate with network and security teams to enforce identity-based access controls.
- Ensure secure access to internal and cloud resources based on device posture and user identity.
- Security & Compliance:
- Align Jamf configurations with CIS Benchmarks, NIST, and other compliance frameworks.
- Monitor device health, encryption status, and threat detection signals.
- Support incident response and forensic investigations involving Apple endpoints.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Identity, Networking, and SOC teams to integrate Jamf with SSO, MDM, and endpoint protection platforms.
- Provide technical guidance and training to IT support teams.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of Jamf configurations, ZTNA configurations, and security controls.
- Generate compliance and audit reports as needed.
qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of experience managing Jamf Pro in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of macOS/iOS architecture, security, and deployment practices.
- Experience implementing or supporting ZTNA solutions.
- Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation and policy enforcement.
- Familiarity with identity providers (Ping, Entra) and conditional access policies.
- Jamf certifications (Jamf 200, 300, or 400).
- Experience with endpoint security tools (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, etc.).
- Knowledge of network segmentation, VPN alternatives, and secure access technologies.
