An Application Security Consultant is needed to enhance the organization's application security program, focusing on managing and optimizing Akamai WAF and Bot Management technologies within a cloud and mobile environment. The role involves designing, operating, and tuning security solutions to protect web and mobile applications, while collaborating with development teams to balance security and business needs. This remote position requires expertise in Akamai, cloud security, and application development, supporting digital replatforming initiatives.

responsibilities:
1. Design, implement, and optimize security capabilities using Akamai WAF and Bot Management technologies to protect web and mobile applications.
2. Monitor, tune, and update security policies and defenses to effectively detect and respond to evolving threats while minimizing impact on user experience.
3. Collaborate with development and business teams to integrate security solutions into application workflows, ensuring alignment with security standards and organizational goals.
qualifications:
1. At least 3 years of experience working with Akamai WAF, Bot Management, and application security technologies, including policy tuning and configuration.
2. Strong knowledge of web and mobile application development, deployment methodologies, and security vulnerabilities, particularly in cloud environments such as AWS.
3. Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Node.js, and experience with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipeline integration.
skills: 1. Expertise in managing and optimizing Akamai WAF and Bot Management solutions, including policy creation and threat detection.
2. Strong understanding of application and API security vulnerabilities, along with effective remediation techniques.
