We're looking for an RF Systems Technician to join our team and provide critical technical support for specialized communication systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who excels at troubleshooting and wants to work with advanced radio and IT systems.

responsibilities:
- Provide expert technical support for specialized communications systems and product applications, including both legacy analog and advanced digital P25 radio systems, as well as IT systems with VMware and Cisco networking.
- Perform preventive maintenance routines and thorough documentation, with a focus on trend analysis to ensure proper system operation.
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting of software-driven electronics and optimize the performance of RF, microwave, and IT systems.
- Provision communications system infrastructure.
- Collect and deliver technical data, including antenna radiated power readings, cable sweep results, network connectivity, and IP traffic analysis.
- Participate in an on-call rotation every 2-3 weeks, responding to after-hours service calls at any time of day or night. Overtime and on-call pay are provided.
- Travel up to 15% for overnight stays.
qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in LMR/RF systems or IT systems. We will also accept 3-8 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a 2-year degree.
- Licensing: Must currently possess or be able to obtain an FCC General Radio Operators License (GROL) within 180 days of employment.
- RF Systems: Proficient knowledge of RF systems, including transmitters, receivers, microwave systems, and antenna networks.
- IT Systems: Strong knowledge of IT systems such as Microsoft Servers, Active Directory, VMware, Red Hat Linux, Cisco, and TCP/IP.
- Test Equipment: Experience using various test equipment, including Communications Monitors, T1 Test Sets, Antenna Analyzers, and IP Network Analyzers.
