Our client is seeking a visionary Director of Cloud Operations to lead their global cloud infrastructure and operations strategy. This role will oversee the scalability, performance, availability, and security of their cloud environments while driving innovation and operational excellence.

Primary Job Objectives
This role entails the following primary objectives:
Strategy & Leadership
- Define and deliver the long-term roadmap for cloud operations, aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead and mentor teams responsible for cloud platform engineering, site reliability, and operations.
- Partner with executive leadership to drive cloud transformation initiatives and cost optimization.
- Oversee 24/7 availability, performance, and reliability of cloud-hosted applications and services.
- Define SLAs, KPIs, and operational metrics to measure and improve service delivery.
- Champion automation, observability, and modern DevOps/SRE best practices.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).
- Collaborate with security and governance teams on cloud access management and incident response.
- Manage cloud spend, forecasting, and vendor relationships with leading cloud and technology vendors.
- Implement FinOps best practices to optimize usage and efficiency.
- Serve as a critical partner to engineering, product, and business leaders.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders about cloud performance, availability, and risks.
qualifications:
Job Qualifications Necessary
- 10+ years of IT and cloud infrastructure experience, with at least 5+ years in leadership roles.
- Proven expertise in managing large-scale, mission-critical cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong background in DevOps, SRE, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
- Experience with cloud security, compliance frameworks, and incident management.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
- Experience driving cloud cost optimization and vendor management.
- Experience working with the direct customers of cloud solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Willingness to travel as much as 25% of the time, possibly including international trips.
- Experience working with a geographically distributed team across different countries/time zones is a plus.
