The Quality Engineer performs software testing on Retrospective internal & external applications to ensure product quality, usability and integrity.

responsibilities:
- Develop test plans, cases, scenarios and scripts to thoroughly test internal & external application changes and new products.
- Analyze and troubleshoot erroneous results, determine the root causes and suggest a solution.
- Conduct manual regression testing of applications on a scheduled basis to ensure product integrity.
- Work closely with software development team (Technical Product Owners, Engineers, Scrum Masters, Architects and Delivery Managers) to ensure timely and effective testing effort.
- Participate on Agile Scrum teams to understand and influence software requirements to build effective test plans and improve end-product usability.
- Act as testing lead on projects requiring multiple software testing resources.
- Identify and track testing issues in change tracking tool(s) to resolve software defects and issues.
- Conduct automated regression testing through the use of in-house or purchased third party Automated Test tools using Behavior Driven Development (BDD) or Test Driven Development (TDD)
- Identify, define and implement testing process and procedure improvements to continuously enhance product and process quality using a Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment framework (CI/CD)
- Train and mentor new software testers and other project stakeholders on testing processes, procedures and framework.
- Participate in other testing and process improvement projects, as needed. Other duties as assigned.

qualifications:
Mandatory Requirements:
- 5+ years of work experience
- Automation & Testing Tools
o Selenium WebDriver with Java (including Selenium Grid)
o TestNG (Java-based testing framework)
o Cucumber (BDD automation)
o Karate (for API and BDD automation)
o Postman (for REST API validation and automation)
o Apache JMeter (performance and load testing)
- Programming & Scripting
o Java (strong hands-on experience)
o SQL (especially with MS SQL Server)
- DevOps & CI/CD Integration
o Bitbucket (version control)
o Bamboo (CI/CD integration)
o Octopus Deploy (automated deployments)
- Environment Management
o Docker or Podman (for containerizing test environments)
- Agile & Collaboration
o Active participation in Agile/Scrum ceremonies
o Experience working in SAFe Agile framework
o Tools like Jira for user story management
- Database
o Basic knowledge of NoSQL databases like HBase (for test validation)
