We are seeking a highly skilled AVD Engineer to spearhead the design, optimization, and management of a robust cloud-based desktop environment. In this role, you will bridge the gap between traditional systems administration and modern cloud automation, leveraging Azure Virtual Desktop, Nerdio Manager for Enterprise, and PowerShell to deliver a seamless user experience. You will serve as a technical lead within an ITIL-aligned framework, collaborating with cross-functional teams to automate resource provisioning, manage complex user profiles via FSLogix, and ensure the scalability and security of our Windows 10/11 ecosystem.

responsibilities:
AVD Infrastructure Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain high-performance Azure Virtual Desktop environments using ARM templates and automated provisioning.
Automation & Scripting: Develop and execute advanced PowerShell scripts to automate repetitive administrative tasks and streamline environment updates.
Performance Optimization: Utilize Nerdio Manager for Enterprise to manage auto-scaling, image versioning, and cost-optimization strategies.
Profile Management: Implement and troubleshoot FSLogix profile containers to ensure persistent user experiences across non-persistent virtual machines.
Incident Resolution: Act as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex VDI issues, utilizing Service-Now for lifecycle ticket management.
Project & Vendor Liaison: Lead technical projects from conception to completion while managing relationships with hardware and software vendors to ensure SLA compliance.
Continuous Improvement: Monitor system health and security, applying ITIL best practices for change, incident, and problem management.
qualifications:
OS Expertise: Deep proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Windows 10 and Windows 11 in a virtualized context.
Cloud Fluency: Demonstrated experience with Azure Resource Manager (ARM), virtual networking, and VM provisioning.
VDI Tooling: Proven hands-on experience with Nerdio and FSLogix is strictly required.
Automation Skills: Advanced ability to write and maintain PowerShell scripts for enterprise-level automation.
Process Knowledge: Strong familiarity with ITIL principles and professional experience using Service-Now.
Communication: Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Education/Experience: 5+ years of systems engineering experience, with at least 2 years focused specifically on Azure/VDI environments.
