responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Maintains system software and manages the database for all Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) applications. Tests and evaluates potential solutions for reports, queries and upgrades prior to final implementation. Performs auditing and testing of software applications.
- Implements policies and procedures for operation, maintenance, down-time and disaster recovery of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
- Delivers training and acts as a consultant to users of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
- Generates reports to assist with the management, quality control, performance improvement and utilization of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
Complexity of Work:
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Evaluates processes, formulates systems and application design, and develops and implements systems
projects.
- Performs database management and support functions.
- Maintains operating systems and application software. Monitors and evaluates systems performance.
- Assists with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) hardware support.
Minimum Qualifications
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Required Credential(s):
- One or more of the following:
transfer date. Technologist license must be in the specialty area assigned/hired.
- Preferred Credential(s):
- Medical Technologist (ASCP) credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of
Certification (ASCP-BOC).
- Medical Lab Scientist (ASCP) credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of
Certification (ASCP-BOC).
- Medical Tech credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
- Medical Tech credentialed from the American Board of Bioanalysis (AAB).
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
