Job Summary - Telecommunications Analyst (Contract)
We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Analyst to support telecom expense management, billing analysis, and vendor coordination within a large enterprise environment. This role focuses on ensuring invoice accuracy, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and improving processes across telecommunications services and assets. The analyst will leverage SQL and telecom expense management (TEM) tools to analyze usage and financial data, resolve billing discrepancies with carriers, track key performance metrics, and maintain accurate service inventories, including E-911 compliance. This is an onsite contract opportunity in Boston with strong potential for extension, ideal for professionals with a solid background in telecom billing, enterprise contracts, and data-driven analysis.

Key Responsibilities
- Telecom Billing Analysis:
- Review and analyze carrier invoices and usage data to ensure billing accuracy, identify discrepancies, and uncover cost-saving opportunities.
- Data Extraction & Reporting:
- Use SQL and telecom expense management (TEM) platforms to pull, reconcile, and analyze telecom data, then develop reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Vendor & Carrier Coordination:
- Work directly with telecom providers to obtain customer service records, resolve billing disputes, and address service issues.
- KPI Monitoring:
- Track and report on metrics such as telecom spend, usage trends, uptime, and mean time to repair.
- Contract Review & Compliance:
- Review telecom contracts and rate structures to confirm compliance and optimal pricing, including working within large enterprise agreement frameworks.
- Asset & Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of telecom circuits, lines, and services across a large environment (including analog and VoIP endpoints).
- E-911 Verification:
- Validate and maintain accurate location information to support emergency services compliance.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify inefficiencies in telecom expense and asset management workflows and implement improvements.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Present findings, insights, and recommendations to IT, finance, and operational leadership.
qualifications:
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience in telecommunications analysis, telecom expense management, or a related discipline within a large enterprise environment. Candidates should have strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with TEM platforms and telecom billing systems, along with a proven ability to analyze complex datasets and translate insights into actionable recommendations. Experience reviewing carrier invoices, resolving billing disputes, and working with enterprise telecom contracts is essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders are key to success in this role.
Preferred: Experience supporting mixed analog and VoIP environments, familiarity with large enterprise agreements, and exposure to reporting or visualization tools.
