Lead all phases of complex information technology projects designed as solutions with university-wide impact, and that require high levels of functional integration and involving multiple disciplines to be managed. Perform the full range of the project management lifecycle: discovery initiating, planning, budgeting, executing, governance, monitoring and controlling, and closing. Develop detailed plans, schedule, project estimate, and resource plan. Ensure adherence to quality standards. Manage the integration of vendor tasks and track and review vendor deliverables. Provide technical and analytical guidance to project team. Recommend and take action to direct the analysis and solution of problems; revise, as appropriate, to meet changing needs and requirements. Evaluate and assess metrics and project effectiveness. Ensure accurate and timely reporting; prepare specialized and ad hoc reports. Absorb and leverage project related technology to ensure effective project management and collaboration. Leverage steering and executive committees for decision-making, change management, and communications. Advise unit/school regarding post project operations. Provide training to clients/staff.
Role requires previous experience managing large-scale technical implementations. Preference for experience in higher education environments and familiarity with enterprise collaboration platforms such as Zoom, as well as coordination across software development, AV integration, and third-party vendors. Additional requirement to work onsite at the HBS Campus in Allston, MA on a weekly basis, 3 days per week, to collaborate with stakeholders.
Role will work closely with the Principal Platform Engineer and Manager, HBS Live Online Classrooms, to support the conversion of the Live Online Classroom (LOC) platform to a custom Zoom-based experience. This initiative includes coordinating with internal HBS IT teams, external AV integrators, Zoom, and software development partners to design, implement, test, and deploy integrated solutions that enable reliable, high-quality live online instruction.
