Employee Support: Helping new hires understand their benefits, answering questions, and resolving issues. Data Management: Accurately entering and managing all benefits information in the company's HR system (like Paylocity). Compliance & Invoicing: Ensuring that benefit policies follow the law and that all invoices from vendors are paid on time. Leave Management: Helping employees with family or medical leave requests and tracking the necessary paperwork. Annual Events: Playing a key role in the annual open enrollment period, which is when employees choose or change their benefits for the coming year. Experience: The requirement for 3-5 years of experience directly administering comprehensive benefit plans, including managing FMLA and short-term disability claims, immediately places this role beyond entry-level. An entry-level position would typically require 0-2 years of experience and focus on more basic administrative tasks. Knowledge: The job requires current, demonstrated knowledge of a variety of complex federal and state laws, such as HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and ACA. This level of legal and regulatory understanding is a key part of an experienced benefits professional's skill set, not something an entry-level candidate would be expected to have.
