.About the Job As part of the multidisciplinary team, this position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sterilization and functioning of equipment and surgical instrumentation. A successful team member in this position is a team player, flexible with changes, clear communicator and is comfortable working independently. Highlighted Responsibilities Responsible for decontamination and cleaning of all equipment and instrumentation; ensures cleanliness and sterility of all instrumentsAccurately assembles instruments sets based on established count sheets, including single packed itemsEnsures sterilization is completed appropriately based on the manufacturer's Instructions for Use (IFU)Maintains sterilization records for various sterilization methodsAssists in maintenance and inventory of equipment throughout the hospitalRounds throughout hospital to collect patient equipment and instrumentation for processingDaily workload varies based on urgent and emergent surgeries and hospital volumeServices include: ENT, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Plastics, General Surgery, Urology, GI, Dental, Spine, and Hem/Onc.Weekend and holiday call is required averaging one weekend/month and one holiday per year Qualifications Experience: 2 years' sterile processing experience preferred Education: High School diploma or GED required Certification: Central Sterile Processing CertificationEqual Opportunity Employer: Race, Color, Religion, Sex, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, National Origin, Age, Genetic Information, Disability, Protected Veteran Status, or any other legally protected group status.
