Review and process claims for emergency and non-emergency ambulance transports, ensuring proper coding and compliance with payer guidelines. Work closely with insurance companies, and other payers to resolve denied claims, billing disputes, and payments discrepancies. Lead the resolution of complex billing issues related to ambulance transportation services, including coding errors, late payments, underpaid and unpaid claims. Monitor and track accounts receivable, ensuring payments are collected in a timely manner and outstanding issues are addressed. Ensure all billing processes comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards for emergency medical services. Provide training and guidance to the billing team, focusing on the nuances of ambulance billing and coding, including transport levels and modifiers. Generate and analyze reports to track departmental performance and identify areas for process improvement.
