We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Staff Accountant with deep experience in lease and real estate accounting to join our growing accounting team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our lease-related financials, with a focus on ASC 842 standards. You’ll be responsible for performing lease reconciliations, landlord payments, rent variance analysis, and accruals, all within a high-volume and fast-paced environment. This position is fully remote, with Central Time Zone (CST) hours preferred for team collaboration. 3 Month Contract assignmentsalary: $35 - $40 per hourshift: Firstwork hours: 8 AM - 5 PMeducation: AssociateResponsibilities Manage lease accounting activities in compliance with ASC 842, including month-end close tasks and reconciliations. Handle landlord payments, variable rent adjustments, and monthly accruals. Perform account reconciliations using Blackline. Work closely with internal teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness of lease data. Assist with audit requests and maintain documentation related to lease obligations. Meet tight reporting deadlines while maintaining high standards for accuracy and compliance. Leverage Excel skills to analyze data and support reporting functions. Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of accounting experience, specifically in lease or real estate accounting. Knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting standards. Experience with PeopleSoft ERP is strongly preferred. Experience using Blackline for reconciliations. Familiarity with Lucernex (Lease Accounting Software) is a huge plus.
