job summary: Seeking a Chicagoland Data Analyst to support a multiyear system optimization project. General Description: Under the direct supervision of the Senior, Manager Compliance, the Data Analyst is responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of pension members' accounts. The Data Analyst audits pension data so that disbursement of benefits is completed in a timely manner. Key Accountabilities As the Data Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work on some challenging projects which include, but are not limited to, the following: Analyzing data for completeness and accuracy, interpreting the results and providing written summary of the recommendation Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information into a visual layoutReviewing, researching and collecting data to assist with development and analystIdentifying inconsistency in data pattern and reviewing the anomalies Retaining adequate supporting documents for operational functionsPerforming data analysis of key problem areas to assist in the root cause analysisAuditing documentation for completeness, accuracy and proper execution in compliance with legal and fund requirementsDocumenting each initiative with the background information, identified issue and proposed solutionsPerforming data reconciliation to identify data irregularitiesCross-referencing multiple systems to validate and document information Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred. A commensurate combination of education and related experience will be consideredPrevious experience with pension administration and/or auditing of financial data requiredDemonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skillsDemonstrated ability to work on complex projects, ability to work effectively with team members and senior leaders under tight deadlinesThe ability to communicate effectively orally, and in writing, including the use of correct spelling, grammar, and punctuationExperience implementing corrective actionsstrong attention to detail Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to meet deadlineAbility to maintain professionalism and lead by examplestrong experience in the MS Office products, particularly Excel Education and Experience ? Bachelor's Degree preferred with 1-3 years of experience. ? Knowledge and experience with pension software. ?
