job summary: Seeking a Site Health and Safety Specialist for a high growth defense contractor in the Aiea, HI area. The SSHO would be responsible for directing and managing occupational safety, health and industrial hygiene functions within the Red Hill Program. The SSHO must implement a safety program that ensures full compliance that meets the requirements of EM 385-1-1 Section 1 and ensure that the requirements of 29 CFR 1926.16 are met for the project. They oversee and report on safety performance metrics to meet company and industry safety goals. Safety Culture and Training: They promote a safety first culture by training the workforce on safety principles. Program Management: The SSHO manages all safety and health program activities, including conducting facility surveys and audits to identify and address non-compliance issues. They also help develop and implement action plans to correct these issues. Compliance and Guidance: They provide professional guidance on safety standards, review new worker protection laws, and develop programs to meet new requirements. Data Analysis: The SSHO compiles and analyzes accident and injury data to identify root causes and trends. They assist management in creating corrective action plans to reduce incidents and lower costs.
