job summary: A Senior Electrical Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Houston, TX area. This is a Senior Electrical Lead role requiring 10-17 years of experience to head the design and planning of massive infrastructure projects like Giga-Factories and AI Data Centers, focusing on power generation and global team coordination. location: Houston, Texas job type: Contract salary: $67.66 - 87.83 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Participate in high-level planning for large-scale power generation facilities and major industrial tenants, including AI Data Centers and Giga-Factories.Lead the design, development, and material requisition for electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, substations, and UPS systems.Apply independent judgment to evaluate, select, and adapt electrical engineering techniques and procedures for global projects.Develop conceptual designs for power generation, transmission, and storage systems with specialized or unique requirements.Prepare and oversee discipline estimates, work plans, staffing needs, and schedules in alignment with project budgets.Interpret and ensure compliance with NEC codes, ANSI/IEEE standards, and complex regulatory requirements.Act as the primary technical interface for clients, coordinating electrical design approvals and resolving complex technical issues.Conduct power system studies and develop electrical one-lines, schematics, and connection diagrams.Design and layout electrical raceway systems, including grounding calculations, lightning protection, and communications infrastructure. Skill: Knowledge & application of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards.Must be able to collaborate well with other disciplines.Experience as electrical responsible engineer for medium to large material requisitions (Transformers, Switchgear, Substations, UPS Systems, Bulk Materials, etc).Knowledge of medium voltage systems (34.5kV / 13.8kV), low voltage systems (480 and 208/120V) which includes but not limited to; Switchgear, MCCs, Switchboard/Distribution Board, Lighting Panel Design.Knowledge of Power System Studies, One Lines, Schematics, and Connection Diagrams.Knowledge of electrical raceway design and layout that includes but not limited to; lighting, communications, grounding layout, grounding designs/calculations, and lightning protection systems.Professional Registration License (P.E) in Electrical Engineering discipline (Power).
