Utilize your expertise in operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and a range of equipment to manage all aspects of shipping, receiving, and storage of metal sheets, plates, and coils. This role also offers you the chance to operate specialized machinery such as Coil Processing, Cut-to-Length equipment, CNC Plasma/Oxy-Fuel systems, and CNC Machining Centers. Comprehensive training will be provided if needed. Essential Responsibilities / Functions: Primary Responsibilities Efficiently unload, store, and stage raw materials for processing using overhead cranes and forklifts. Verify material accuracy according to orders, adhering to ISO 9001 standards. Load/unload materials onto/from trucks or rail cars, confirming alignment with customer orders. Ensure secure railcar loading and conduct equipment inspections. Follow strict safety rules and regulations. Secondary Responsibilities Skillfully operate Coil Processing, Cut-to-Length, CNC Oxy-Fuel/Plasma cutting, and CNC Machining machinery. Additional Responsibilities Contribute to maintenance activities on a voluntary basis. Qualifications – Education and Experience: Desired: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment. Desired: Hands-on experience with overhead cranes. Required: Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent education. Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Frequent: Sit, stand, walk (up to 8 hours), handle items, lift up to 35 lbs. Occasional: Balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, lift items < 50 lbs, bend, twist. Visual and Auditory Capabilities: Maintain clear vision at different ranges, peripheral vision, effective communication skills. Tools and Machines: Utilize desktop computers, hand tools, overhead remote-operated cranes, oxy-fuel hand torches. Work Conditions: Operate around moving equipment, exposure to noise.
