We are seeking a rigorous, high-stakes Global Trade & Import Compliance Manager to safeguard our international supply chain. This is not a clerical "paperwork" role; it is a strategic position centered on owning the legal integrity of our global operations. As the primary authority on U.S. Customs (CBP) standards, you will navigate volatile trade laws and complex regulatory frameworks to ensure seamless port clearance. Core Impact Areas Regulatory Guardship: Act as the subject matter expert on Anti-Dumping/Countervailing Duties (AD/CVD) and Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements. You will lead internal audits to ensure we are always "audit-ready" and proactively pivot our strategy as federal trade enforcement shifts. Precision Documentation: Own the lifecycle of import data—from HTS classification and valuation to Country of Origin verification. You will ensure the accuracy of commercial invoices, BOLs, and packing lists to maintain zero-defect filings. Broker & Vendor Accountability: Manage customs brokers with extreme scrutiny. You will establish the documentation standards for overseas suppliers, identifying high-risk vendors and enforcing strict protocols to prevent delays at the port of entry. Logistics Problem Solving: When a shipment is flagged for exam or held at the port, you are the lead negotiator. Your goal is to resolve discrepancies rapidly, minimizing demurrage fees and maintaining inventory velocity. Fiscal Optimization: Beyond compliance, you will hunt for duty-saving opportunities (Drawbacks, Exclusions, or Reclassifications) and audit broker entries for errors that impact the bottom line. The Ideal Profile Deep Expertise: 5 to 10+ years in a dedicated Import Compliance or Trade Operations role. Direct experience with high-tariff or high-regulation commodities is required. Technical Mastery: You know the HTSUS and federal trade enforcement nuances like the back of your hand. You understand the "Due Care" standards required by modern trade laws. Process Oriented: You don't just follow rules; you build the systems that make compliance scalable across a global vendor base. Analytical Mindset: You can spot a clerical error on a manifest from a mile away and understand exactly how it impacts landed costs. salary: $95,000 - $100,000 per yearshift: Firstwork hours: 8:30 AM - 5 PMeducation: BachelorsResponsibilities Regulatory Guardship: Act as the subject matter expert on Lacey Act declarations, AD/CVD requirements, and general CBP regulations.
