job summary: A Mechanical Engineer is needed for an engineering consulting company. Location can be anywhere in the US near a local company office and under a hybrid work policy. This role requires a BSME and 7+ years of experience to lead the design and implementation of high-precision HVAC and chilled water systems for data centers and industrial facilities. location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania job type: Contract salary: $68.34 - 75.00 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Lead the design and layout of complex HVAC systems for data centers, electric vehicle plants, and heavy industrial facilities.Develop specialized design criteria for systems requiring precise temperature, humidity, and pressure control, including clean room applications.Create conceptual and preliminary design documents, including detailed sizing calculations and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).Design ductwork systems and general equipment arrangements based on technical flow diagrams.Produce final construction documents, including technical specifications, piping layouts (chilled water/cooling water), and sequences of operation.Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams remotely and lead the building mechanical team on major projects.Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineering staff.Ensure all designs strictly adhere to national and local mechanical codes and industry standards.Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems. Skills: Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to the design of HVAC systems.Adaptability to work within a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines. Desired Skills: Software experience in Revit, AutoCAD, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace 700, and Trane Trace 3D.Experience in the design of plumbing/utility systems.
