Staff Accountant (Senior Living) Salary Range: $61,630 – $77,043 (Commensurate with experience) Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days in office / 3 days remote)About the Role Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their team supporting Senior Life Plan Communities. This role is central to financial operations, focusing on resident billing, census accuracy, and full-cycle accounts receivable. The successful candidate will serve as a key financial liaison for residents and families while ensuring their community remains audit-ready and compliant.salary: $32 - $36 per hourshift: Firstwork hours: 8 AM - 4 PMeducation: BachelorsResponsibilities Revenue & Billing: Manage full-cycle monthly resident billing, including recurring charges, ancillary services, refunds, and rate adjustments within the electronic health record (EHR) system. Account Maintenance: Accurate entry of payer trees, level-of-care updates, and contract terms. Payment Processing: Reconcile diverse payment streams including ACH, credit cards, Medicaid, Medicare, and LTC insurance. Census Management: Reconcile daily census by 10 a.m. and distribute reports to clinical and pharmacy providers. Month-End Close: Execute month-end processes, including journal entries, ancillary billing, and cash receipt posting. Audit & Compliance: Support internal and external audits by preparing reconciliations and documentation to ensure federal and state regulatory compliance. Collections: Lead A/R reviews with executive leadership and perform weekly collection calls and correspondence. Financial Counseling: Act as the primary liaison for families regarding billing inquiries, contract terms, and insurance benefits. Risk Mitigation: Analyze aged trial balances and prepare bad debt write-off requests with supporting documentation. Payment Agreements: Draft and manage formal payment plans and resident spend-down tracking.
