job summary: A Project Manager is needed for a world class utility company in the New Albany, OH area. This role supports the competitive transmission projects team by providing leadership and coordination throughout the project lifecycle to ensure the safe, efficient, and risk-balanced execution of intermediate and complex FERC 1000 projects. location: New Albany, Ohio job type: Contract salary: $48.14 - 56.25 per hour work hours: 8am to 4pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Project Coordination and Leadership: Plan, organize, and direct assigned project activities.Execute administrative and coordination tasks as delegated by the Lead PM or Manager.Act as a representative for the Lead PM or Manager when required.Progressively apply project management techniques to gain independence in managing projects. Safety Leadership: Enforce the company System Safety Process to ensure a working environment focused on Zero Harm. Project Planning and Controls: Develop and review project plans, schedules, budgets, tools, and staffing levels.Perform coordination duties to increase awareness across all project management knowledge areas.Serve in lead roles on assigned projects to build technical proficiency. Communication and Reporting: Provide clear project details and accurate status updates to stakeholders.Lead planning meetings and support presentations for project or outage updates.Generate effective written reports and verbal communications. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain working relationships with internal teams, plant staff, customers, and vendors.Foster a culture of teamwork and prioritize customer satisfaction. Guidance and Continuous Improvement: Provide input to improve designs, systems, procedures, and cost management.Constructively challenge peers using technical and project insights. Procurement and Contract Management: Develop and manage procurement plans for necessary external resources.Assist in managing service contracts, including RFP development and bid evaluation.Support vendor selection, contract negotiations, performance oversight, and compliance. Qualifications: Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or Project Management with 3 years of qualified experience.Alternatively, an Associate degree in the same fields with 5 years of qualified experience.Experience must include project management, major construction field work, project controls, or project engineering.Background in construction safety, scope development, estimating, and quality control.
