We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our client's finance team in Tampa. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our General Ledger, ensuring GAAP compliance, and driving an efficient month-end close process.salary: $30 - $35 per hourshift: Firstwork hours: 8:30 AM - 5 PMeducation: BachelorsResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities General Ledger & GAAP: Maintain and reconcile GL accounts; ensure all financial reporting is conducted in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Month-End Close: Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and variance analysis. Accounts Receivable & Payable: Oversee the full-cycle AP/AR process to ensure timely payments, accurate invoicing, and effective collections. Fixed Assets: Manage the fixed asset lifecycle, including acquisitions, disposals, and monthly depreciation schedules. Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations to ensure accuracy. Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and provide supporting documentation for internal and external audits. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. Technical Expertise: Advanced Excel: Must be proficient with VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and complex formulas (Macros/Power Query is a plus). ERP Systems: Previous experience navigating and posting within mid-to-large tier ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics). Core Knowledge: understanding of the accounting cycle, accrual-based accounting, and fixed asset management.
