We are currently partnering with a premier, high-tonnage injection molding leader to find a Process Technician who treats molding as a science, not a hobby. This isn’t a "button-pusher" role. You will be the technical lead on a floor utilizing presses up to 2000T, specializing in complex two-shot and gas-assist molding. If you are a troubleshooter who thrives on data-driven stability and "Master Processes," we want to talk to you.Core Responsibilities The "Scientific" Approach: Set up, pull, and optimize molds using Scientific Injection Molding (SIM) principles to ensure repeatable, high-quality cycles. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex defects (flash, sink, splay, etc.) using RJG/eDART or similar cavity pressure data. Automation & Robotics: Program and adjust End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT) and robotic extraction sequences to maintain flow. Material Mastery: Manage specialized resins (ABS, PC, Polypro) and ensure proper moisture control and drying parameters. Continuous Improvement: Work alongside the Engineering team to refine cycle times and reduce scrap rates across 90T–2000T presses. What You Bring to the Table Experience: 3+ years of hands-on Process Tech experience in a high-volume molding environment (Automotive or Appliance Tier 1/2 experience is a major plus). Technical IQ: Proficiency with RJG/eDART systems and a deep understanding of "The Big Four" variables (Pressure, Temperature, Flow, Cooling). Mechanical Skill: Expert-level mold setting, overhead crane operation, and the ability to read complex blueprints/CAD data. Certifications: RJG or Paulson Scientific Molding certifications are highly preferred and will command a premium rate. Why Apply Through Us? Direct Access: We work directly with the hiring managers, ensuring your resume doesn't get lost in an automated portal. Premier Facilities: Our client is known for a "Stability-Before-Scale" culture—clean, organized, and technologically advanced floors. Total Rewards: Competitive pay, 401(k) matching, comprehensive medical/dental/vision, and clear paths for advancement into Lead Tech or Engineering roles. salary: $50,000 - $59,000 per yearshift: Secondwork hours: 2:45 PM - 11 PMeducation: No Degree RequiredResponsibilitiesPrimary Responsibilities Machine Set-Up & Teardown: * Perform mold changes and install specialized auxiliary equipment (thermolators, dryers, grinders, and robotic end-of-arm tooling). Connect hydraulic, water, and pneumatic lines according to safety standards. Process Optimization (Scientific Molding): Establish "Master Process" settings based on plastic pressure, melt temperature, and flow rate. Technical Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve defects such as flashing, short shots, splay, silver streaks, and sink marks. Adjust robotic extraction sequences to ensure parts are handled without damage. Quality & Documentation: Perform "First Piece" inspections to verify parts meet CAD specifications and color matches. Maintain detailed logs of process changes to ensure the next shift can replicate successful runs. Maintenance Support: Perform minor preventative maintenance on presses and molds (cleaning vents, greasing pins). Collaborate with Tooling Engineers to report mold damage or wear.
