he Property Accountant, Commercial Retail Focus, will be responsible for the accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis of a portfolio of commercial retail properties. This role requires an understanding of commercial real estate accounting principles, with a specific emphasis on the unique financial aspects of retail storefront operations, including tenant leases, common area maintenance (CAM) reconciliations, and percentage rent calculations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent analytical skills, and be able to collaborate effectively with property management, leasing, and asset management teams. The role is off the LYNX in South End, so you can commute to work to avoid the Charotte Traffice. salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per yearshift: Firstwork hours: 8 AM - 5 PMeducation: BachelorsResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities: Accounts Receivable: Process incoming payments by scanning checks and uploading electronic payments. Accurately allocate payments to the appropriate tenant accounts and general ledger codes. Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with collections. Accounts Payable: Track and manage vendor invoices using an online accounts payable platform. Ensure timely and accurate coding, approval, and processing of invoices. Maintain organized records of payable transactions and assist with vendor inquiries. Cash Management: Initiate wire transfers and ACH payments in accordance with internal controls. Track account balances to ensure timely disbursement of funds. Maintain documentation for all outgoing payments. Other Responsibilities: Assist in maintaining the general ledger by preparing and posting journal entries. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for assigned properties Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations Maintain tenant ledgers and process rent rolls, escalations, and CAM reconciliations, Utility billings Assist with the preparation of annual property budgets and forecasts Track and report on capital expenditures and operating expenses Monitor lease agreements to ensure compliance with billing terms and conditions Provide financial support and analysis to property managers and the finance team Other job duties and operational projects as assigned.
