Position Summary The Accounting Analyst III is a senior-level operational accounting role supporting multiple functional areas within a complex Finance organization, including General Accounting, Banking, Projects, and Fixed Assets. This position is responsible for executing and reviewing complex accounting activities, maintaining accuracy across a multi-entity environment, and ensuring financial integrity during an ongoing transition to the Workday ERP system. The ideal candidate brings technical accounting skills, hands-on experience managing day-to-day accounting cycles, and the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve discrepancies in a high-volume environment. Please note that this is a deeply operational accounting role—not a consulting or project-only position—requiring extensive expertise in monthly and quarterly close processes, with the flexibility to support project work as needed. Key Responsibilities Operational Accounting (Primary Focus) Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, intercompany transactions, and property-related entries. Complete and thoroughly review balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities. Manage accounting for multi-entity structures, focusing on fixed assets, AP accruals, prepaids, and overall property accounting. Research accounting issues, investigate financial variances, and recommend strategic corrections to the Accounting Manager. Maintain strict compliance with GAAP, internal control frameworks, and external reporting requirements. Cross-Functional & Systems Work Support the organization’s Workday ERP transition by validating data, assisting with system testing, and refining processes without compromising day-to-day close responsibilities. Partner with reimbursement, finance, and ERP project teams to ensure consistent, accurate, and seamless reporting. Develop, continuously improve, and maintain reporting structures across the general ledger and asset modules. Leadership & Collaboration Review work prepared by junior team members, providing mentorship and guidance on accounting procedures and audit readiness.
