Senior Contract Accountant - Year-End Close Specialist (SAP Required) Location: Deer Park, IL (On-site, 5 days a week) Duration: Start Date through at least Mid-January 2026 Pay Rate: $44 - $54 per hour We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Contract Accountant to support our client's finance team during their critical year-end close period. This is an essential, high-impact contract role reporting directly to the Finance and Accounting leadership. The core focus will be ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting through the year-end cycle. Key Responsibilities Year-End Close Management: Serve as the primary driver for key aspects of the year-end close process, ensuring all deadlines are met and accounts are reconciled accurately. General Ledger (GL) Ownership: Process and review 30-40 complex general ledger entries monthly, ensuring proper classification and documentation. Accrual Expertise: Take full ownership of various corporate accruals, including calculating, posting, and reconciling significant items such as: Corporate IT expenses Severance and bonus liabilities Marketing and prepaid expenses Process Integrity: Demonstrate an understanding of the end-to-end accrual and reconciliation process to maintain control and accuracy across financial statements. Financial Reconciliation: Perform detailed balance sheet and income statement reconciliations to validate account balances ahead of final reporting. Required Qualifications Proven SAP Fluency: Must have extensive, hands-on experience utilizing SAP for general ledger entry, reporting, and module interaction. Year-End Close Experience: Direct, recent experience successfully managing and executing year-end close activities and schedules is essential. Accounting Foundation: Understanding of U.S. GAAP and the underlying principles governing accruals, prepaids, and GL management. Contract Commitment: Ability to commit to a full-time, 5-day-per-week on-site schedule in the Deer Park, IL office through at least mid-January 2026.
