job summary: NYS-listed manufacturing company is growing their accounting department and seeking a Senior Cost Accountant for a newly created position due to growth. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented senior level accountant beginning their career in a large public accounting firm (preferrably Big4) or subsequent public/private company with annual revenues exceeding 500M. location: Saint Petersburg, Florida job type: Permanent salary: $95,000 - 105,000 per year work hours: 9 to 5 education: Bachelor's degree experience: 5 Years responsibilities: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Prepare and review journal entries for revenue, accruals, reconciliations and other adjustments. Reconcile various accounts, including bank accounts, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts. Assist with internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules and providing documentation. Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing analysis and insights. Identify and implement improvements to accounting procedures and controls. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Support the finance team with ad hoc reporting and analysis, as needed. qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting CPA or CPA Candidate preferred Big4 or Top10 Public accounting experience preferred 5 - 7 years' combined accounting experience Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting, required Large ERP experience required (SAP preferred).
