The Quality Inspector will be responsible for inspecting a variety of metal parts and assemblies-including machined, welded, cast, and forged components-to ensure they meet engineering specifications and quality standards. This role involves performing final checks before shipping, reviewing engineering drawings and documentation, and using measurement tools to verify dimensional accuracy. Additional tasks include conducting first-article inspections, checking complex dimensions, and ensuring proper assembly and alignment. Candidates must have experience with quality inspection in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, the ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings, and a solid understanding of inspection procedures, including first-article inspections. APPLY TODAY! location: Baltimore, Maryland job type: Contract salary: $28 - 30 per hour work hours: 8am to 4pm education: High School responsibilities: Inspect a wide variety of components-including irregularly shaped sheet metal, extrusions, castings, forgings, machined parts, welded assemblies, subassemblies, and major assemblies-for conformance to engineering specifications and workmanship standards.Perform final inspections of all outgoing parts, assemblies, and materials prior to shipment. Verify for damage, completeness, proper packaging, and compliance with shipping documentation.Utilize drawings, specifications, engineering change orders, verbal/written instructions, logbooks, receiving reports, and similar documentation to carry out inspections. Detailed Inspection Duties: Inspect complex machined and welded parts following established procedures, checking numerous interrelated dimensions across various planes, including irregular surfaces and tight tolerance requirements.Inspect assemblies and components of average complexity, such as castings, forgings, and extruded parts, for dimensional accuracy, alignment, angles, and radii.Perform first-piece inspections for parts of average complexity, developing inspection procedures, standardizing checkpoints, and creating inspection aids as needed to ensure consistency and efficiency.Examine small parts, subassemblies, and major assemblies to ensure they meet dimensional, tolerance, and workmanship standards. Confirm that parts are securely fastened, metal is flush to fixtures, rivets are properly driven, and overall alignment is maintained.Approve items that meet specifications by stamping or logging inspection results, and coordinate with customers for certification and acceptance.Complete and maintain accurate inspection records and all necessary documentation.
