In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding complex metal components from intricate blueprints and models. Key Responsibilities: Blueprints & Layout: Read and precisely interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to plan fabrication layout. Fit & Align: Prepare, position, tack, and align heavy metal parts and structures accurately before final welding. Welding: Perform high-quality manual or semi-automatic MIG welding in multiple positions (flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead). Quality & Inspection: Monitor welding processes to prevent defects; inspect finished welds to ensure strict compliance with specifications. Finishing: Conduct post-weld finishing, including cleaning, grinding, and polishing. Maintenance & Safety: Maintain welding tools, machinery, and a clean workspace; strictly follow all shop safety protocols. Qualifications: Experience: Proven proficiency in MIG welding and a Solid ability to independently set up complex fabrication projects. Blueprint Reading: Advanced ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and welding symbols. Certifications: Professional certification in welding and fitting is highly preferred (but verified hands-on experience is valued). Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for the duration of the shift. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
