With companies unable to fill all their job openings, Colorado business leaders have collaborated on a set of recommendations for drawing women back into the workforce and to address the inequities and roadblocks that caused many women to leave in the first place.
Women say it’s taking them about 40% longer than in the past to return to the workforce or land a new job, compared to 27% longer for men but at the same time, there are 1.7 job openings for every unemployed person. That tells me that companies have to do something different to attract women back into the workforce or those jobs are going to remain unfilled.
