Senior Accountant
A fast growing association who is leading the way forward on energy solutions seeks a Senior Accountant to join its Finance Department. The Senior Accountant reports to the Director of Finance and Accounting and will interact with staff, association members, customers, an outsourcing firm, and other outside contacts. This individual will need to operate independently with minimal daily supervision to accomplish objectives. Must be knowledgeable of a variety of ground concepts, practices, and procedures.

responsibilities:
- Manage and reconcile various deferred revenue accounts and recognize revenue according to ASC 606 and org policies.
- Ensures customer's accounts are up to date. Liaise with outsourcing firm to ensure AR transactions are processed. Provides accurate information to aid in account inquiries, billing, & collection efforts. Provides regular status and aging reporting including running month end reports.
- Monitors conference, exhibition, membership, and miscellaneous receivable related transactions for analysis, accuracy of financial information, and to resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner in all corresponding systems.
- Facilitates the collection of ad hoc funds by supporting the invoicing process.
- Serves as the department lead for all refunds.
- Tracks direct funding.
- Reconciles AR and AR related including direct funds accounts monthly.
- Liaise with outside advisors to ensure timely and accurate tax filings.
- Books journal entries and accruals.
- Performs shared services for C3 and C4 related organizations and partners.
- Creates products in association management system for exhibitions, sponsorship, advertising, hotel rebates, miscellaneous projects (such as directed funds), online bookstore sales, market reports, and other products as needed.
- Process incoming checks, lockbox, credit card, & wire transactions and miscellaneous receivables -including timely updates to the conference, membership, and exhibition system records.
- Back-up for Accounting Manager and FP&A Analyst.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required, CPA certification is a plus.
- 2+ years of relevant finance, accounting and /or audit experience.
- Must demonstrate a strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Must be proficient in using Excel and Microsoft Office Software, Tableau/ Power BI are a plus.
