Tatum Consulting is seeking a high-caliber Senior Financial Consultant to lead a strategic engagement for a fast-paced, high-growth startup. This is a premier consulting opportunity for a technical leader to architect the financial infrastructure and governance required for a successful transition to the public markets.
In this capacity, you will serve as a lead advisor, providing the high-level oversight and technical rigor necessary to navigate the complexities of IPO readiness and a company's inaugural US GAAP audit. You will function as a strategic partner to the executive team, ensuring the organization meets the stringent reporting and compliance standards of a public entity.

responsibilities:
- Set up the initial control environment (SOC, ITGC formalization) for a company currently lacking formal structure.
- Author technical accounting memos and white papers , specifically focusing on Revenue Recognition and Going Concern assessments.
- Act as the primary liaison for the first US audit with the public accounting firm.
- Establish expense management structures and formalize segregation of duties.
- Manage inventory accounting and Fixed Asset (FA) audits .
- Navigate and support a NetSuite implementation
qualifications:
Technical Requirements & Experience:
Public Accounting Background: Must have a foundational understanding of controls and technical accounting from public accounting.
Key Skills: Technical Memo Writing, Control Environment Design (ITGC/Segregation of Duties), Audit Support, AI Utilization, and Project Management
Must Have: Sr. Manager Level experience 10+ years with a CPA license (preferred)
2+ years working in a start-up environment is highly preferred
Management Level: Senior Manager level experience.
- Systems: Proficiency in NetSuite is required; must be highly proficient in utilizing AI for efficiency.
- Autonomy: Ability to work without "hand-holding," take a firm position on technical topics, and demonstrate a "backbone" when navigating audit requirements.
- Agility: Willingness to "jump in" to figure out logistics, field operations, and communication strategies for a growing organization.
- Logistics Location: Local candidates preferred
- Travel: Must be open to travel as needed.
