Fast growing, publicly traded manufacturing company in Modesto, California is seeking an Accounting Manager. Reporting to the Controller, this role plays a key part in the monthly close and financial reporting process, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, reconciliation integrity, and understanding the drivers behind financial results. The Accounting Manager will ensure financial results are complete and reliable in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable government contracting requirements.

Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting, including journal entries, general ledger, and reconciliations
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare financial reports and perform variance analysis
- Maintain general ledger integrity and ERP data accuracy
- Support compliance with GAAP, SOX controls, and government contracting requirements (FAR/DFARS)
- Support revenue accounting to ensure accurate and consistent recording in line with company policies
- Manage payroll, fixed asset, and inventory accounting, including related processes and reporting
- Support the Controller with cash flow analysis
- Support audit preparation and documentation
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support financial reporting and analysis
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Provide guidance and informal mentorship to junior staff

BS degree
5 - 7 years of related experience
CPA with manufacturing industry experience a plus
