The Scientist joins a high-caliber CMC Bio-Drug Substance team dedicated to the advancement of next-generation cell therapy platforms. This role is instrumental in the process development and expansion of human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and embryonic stem cells (ESCs), directly contributing to the scalability of regenerative medicines. By bridging the gap between laboratory-scale research and clinical manufacturing, the incumbent ensures the delivery of high-quality therapeutic candidates for patients with significant unmet medical needs.

responsibilities:
- Execute high-fidelity aseptic techniques for the maintenance, expansion, and harvesting of iPSC, ESC, and CHO cell lines within a regulated CMC environment.
- Directly manage bioreactor operations, including system setup, inoculation, sampling, and the precise adjustment of feeding strategies and probe calibrations.
- Perform critical analytical monitoring of cell cultures, including metabolite analysis, gas exchange monitoring, and viability assessments to ensure optimal process parameters.
- Formulate specialized media, feeds, and chemical solutions required for complex mammalian and stem cell bioprocessing.
- Maintain rigorous data integrity by documenting experimental results and process parameters in centralized databases to support regulatory filings.
- Ensure laboratory operational readiness through the calibration of precision instrumentation and the maintenance of biological safety cabinets (BSCs) and incubators.
- Collaborate across multi-disciplinary scientific teams to meet project milestones, maintaining the flexibility required for weekend or off-hours process monitoring.
qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology, or a closely related scientific discipline.
- Demonstrated proficiency in aseptic mammalian cell culture techniques and laminar flow hood operations.
- Technical expertise in the preparation of complex media and buffer solutions.
- Strong communication skills and a proven track record of collaborative success in a laboratory setting.
- Ability to support flexible scheduling, including occasional evening and weekend shifts, to maintain continuous cell culture processes.
- Advanced degree (MS) in a relevant biological or engineering field.
- Direct professional experience in the culture and differentiation of ESC or iPSC lines.
- Familiarity with bioreactor scale-up and automated cell processing systems.
