We are seeking a highly motivated, independent Biologist I to join the QTAS (Quantitative, Translational and ADME Sciences) department at Company Bioresearch Center in Worcester, MA. This role will focus on sample management and bioanalytical support for pre-clinical programs.
The LBA Bioanalytical group at ABC QTAS conducts quantitative bioanalysis assays of large molecule therapeutics, including monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), ADCs, fusion proteins, and bi-specific antibodies, for PK, PD, and TK studies using ligand binding assays to support drug discovery and early development efforts.
The main responsibilities of the Biologist I will include: Managing samples and reagents using electronic tools such as an Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and Laboratory information management systems (LIMS); shipping and receiving lab samples and critical reagents; performing pre-analytical sample processing in compliance with environmental health and safety guidelines; conducting sample analysis using ligand binding assays; and generating high-quality bioanalytical data to enable data summary and PK analysis.

responsibilities:
- Primary responsibilities (operational, ~80%):
- Coordinate and execute sample receiving and sample QC in LIMS and Smartsheet.
- Manage and maintain sample and critical reagent inventory, using LIMS and Smartsheet.
- Maintain freezers and sample discard scheduling per SOP
- Maintain, prepare, and periodically report lab metrics using Smartsheet and Power BI.
- Maintain and update analysis queue via Smartsheet.
- Adress sample discrepancies and communicate effectively and promptly with study leads.
- Secondary responsibilities (lab-facing, ~20%):
- As operational schedule allows, run ligand binding assays following BA protocols.
- Initiate, design, review, and troubleshoot assays independently and efficiently.
- Effectively communicate experimental plans and results orally and in writing.
- Archive data and information in ELN and LIMS accurately and promptly.
- Write and update experimental protocols and procedures with supervision.
qualifications:
Required Skills:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Pharmacology, Biology, or Chemistry.
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Sample Management: Proven experience in sample or inventory management is strictly required.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and Excel.
- Communication: Demonstrated ability to draft technical reports and communicate experimental plans/results clearly.
- Experience utilizing Smartsheet and/or Power BI for project tracking and data visualization.
- Familiarity with manual or automated ligand binding assay (LBA) workflows.
- Experience in data-driven troubleshooting for bioanalytical assays.
