- The Biomarker team of Quantitative Translational ADME Science (QTAS) at Company in Worcester, MA is seeking a creative, experienced, and highly motivated scientist to support bioanalytical method development and preclinical/clinical sample testing for the discovery and development of novel therapies in multiple therapeutic areas. The Biomarker team focuses on ligand binding assays and PCR-based assays to support exploratory and translational research that allow decision-making. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in a variety of technologies, including but not limited to ligand binding assays (LBA), high sensitivity and multiplex assays, quantitative PCR, sample processing and handling, etc. The candidate will be a key member of a global non-regulated biomarker and LBA bioanalysis teams that support all Company therapeutic areas.

responsibilities:
- Develop, qualify, and validate robust bioanalytical qPCR and dPCR workflows on a variety of sample matrices
- Familiar with various ligand binding assays on multiple analytical platforms across a variety of sample matrices
- Conduct, present, and document appropriately compliant biomarker sample testing to support pre-clinical and clinical studies.
- Plan and execute pre-clinical in vivo sample analysis based on bioanalytical protocol and in vivo study design.
- Develop effective partnerships with discovery, preclinical safety, clinical pharmacology, and project team representatives in a highly collaborative and innovative environment to deliver high-impact and quality data in a timely manner.
- Evaluate novel, pipeline-enabling, assay technologies to expand capabilities and enhance efficiency.
- Maintain laboratory notebooks (ELN) in compliance with Company policies.
- Strong organization and communication skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, troubleshooting skills, independence, multitasking, desire to learn new techniques, and contribute to cutting-edge projects.
qualifications:
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience for people who have a Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, Biochemistry, or other related fields, or 3 years of relevant experience for people who have a Master's degree in related fields.
- Working knowledge in Molecular Biology, especially in DNA/RNA purification and quantitative PCR (qPCR), digital PCR, etc.
- Working knowledge of LBA (ELISA, MSD, etc.) biomarker bioanalytical assay development, validation, and sample testing workflows to comply with current regulatory standards and best industry practices.
- Excellent communication skills, and proven ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated capacity to work in a fast-paced environment with meticulous attention to detail, and an ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of LIMS systems is a plus.
- Working knowledge of handling clinical samples is a plus.
