We are seeking a Bench Scientist I to join the Critical Reagents Group. This is a fully onsite, laboratory focused role ideal for a new graduate or someone early in their scientific career. The position involves hands on wet lab work supporting the preparation, management, and characterization of critical reagents used across various therapeutic programs.
The selected candidate must be comfortable working with biohazardous materials (BSL 2) and chemical hazards, including materials associated with antibody-drug conjugates.
This is a 12 month contract with potential for extension based on business needs.

responsibilities:
- Perform bioconjugation of therapeutics with various proteins, tags, or labels.
- Conduct laboratory assays and analytical methods, such as:
- ELISA / ligand binding assays
- HPLC
- UV/Vis
- BCA
- Execute multi day experimental workflows and maintain accurate laboratory documentation.
- Prepare templated summary sheets for each reagent produced (no interpretive report writing required).
- Support reagent inventory management, including coordination of materials stored in off site critical storage.
- Follow all safety procedures when working with hazardous materials.
- Collaborate within a small, highly interactive team while independently managing assigned weekly tasks.
qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
- Academic wet lab experience (coursework, projects, internships, or co ops).
- Ability to work 100% onsite and perform 100% wet lab work.
- Comfort working with biohazardous (BL2) and chemical hazardous materials.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, general digital fluency).
- Master's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (new graduates are welcome).
- Hands on experience with:
- Bioconjugation techniques
- ELISA or ligand binding assays
- HPLC or similar analytical instrumentation
- Note: A PhD is not required for this role.
- Small, collaborative lab based team.
- Each scientist manages their own experiments, with shared space and support from team members.
- Training will be led primarily by senior team members, with contributions from others as needed.
- Minimal operational tasks may accompany laboratory work (e.g., reagent movement, basic inventory tasks).
- No regular weekend work; Saturday work would only occur under exceptional circumstances.
- No travel expected.
