The Microbiology Technician will prepare samples for analytical and microbiological testing of food products, ingredients, and environmentals. The role is responsible for the application of approved microbiological techniques and methodologies used in analytical testing.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with rotating Saturdays

responsibilities:
- Execute sample preparation for the detection of indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemical analytes.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques during all phases of the daily microbiological workload.
- Manage the preparation and maintenance of media and reagents essential for analytical testing.
- Conduct routine quality control monitoring, including incubator temperature verification, control organism inoculation, and media validation.
- Perform preventive maintenance, sanitization, and laboratory upkeep to ensure a sterile and compliant testing environment.
- Manage laboratory inventory and documentation in accordance with strict quality assurance programs and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate within a fast-paced team to prioritize testing schedules and ensure the timely delivery of accurate results.
qualifications:
Required:
- High School diploma or GED
- 2 years of hands on experience in the lab
- Associate degree in Life Sciences or a minimum of two years of professional laboratory experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in aseptic handling of microbiological pathogens and hazardous chemicals
