Key Responsibilities
- Complex Diagnostic Testing: Independently perform a wide range of clinical tests, including newly introduced methodologies, ensuring strict adherence to established protocols and turnaround times.
- Quality Assurance & Calibration: Conduct routine and complex analyses, evaluate instrument performance, and perform linearity, accuracy, and precision checks.
- Result Validation: Review and evaluate test data for acceptability, identifying and documenting critical values or unusual results and taking immediate corrective action when necessary.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Detect and resolve technical and operational issues, collaborating with supervisors or manufacturer field support to maintain lab uptime.
- Reagent & Supply Management: Oversee the preparation and validation of reagents, media, and controls, ensuring all materials meet standard criteria before use.
- Process Improvement: Participate in staff meetings and Quality Improvement initiatives, contributing to method comparisons, cost analyses, and the revision of technical procedures.
- Mentorship & Supervision: Provide direct supervision to unlicensed staff and assist in training team members on both routine and specialized laboratory procedures.
- Compliance & Safety: Maintain a safe, organized work environment in full compliance with health, safety, and infection control policies, including the use of required PPE.

Required:
- Education: BS in Medical Technology or a related Life/Physical Science from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Valid California State Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License.
- Experience: 0-3 years of direct experience in a clinical laboratory setting (salary offer will be commensurate with years of experience).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally, maintain manual dexterity for fine manipulation, and pass a color blindness evaluation for technical functions.
- Experience working in a high-throughput or production-style diagnostic environment.
- Strong typing skills and familiarity with laboratory automation systems.
- Proven ability to remain focused and accurate while performing repetitive, high-volume tasks.
