responsibilities:
- Receive, verify, log, and QC incoming biohazardous specimens against intake documents and manifests.
- Accurately enter specimen data into LIMS and assign unique accession numbers to ensure proper downstream workflow tracking.
- Centrifuge, aliquot, and prepare samples for testing or external shipment while maintaining strict chain of custody.
- Inspect specimen packaging and collaborate with program management to quickly resolve processing or documentation discrepancies.
- Adhere strictly to laboratory safety protocols, HIPAA regulations, and established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
qualifications:
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of experience as a Receiving and Accessioning Technician, or an equivalent mix of education and laboratory experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of dedicated Customer Service experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of handling and working with potentially biohazardous specimens.
- High attention to detail with an understanding of regulatory compliance and medical terminology.
- Associate degree (AA or AS) in a scientific discipline.
