responsibilities:
- Receive, sort, centrifuge, and prepare biological specimens at workstations for testing.
- Perform specimen aliquoting, worklist generation, slide preparation, and check samples for clots or fibrin.
- Conduct routine instrument maintenance, monitor equipment data, and complete QA/QC tasks as assigned.
- Decontaminate work areas, handle biohazardous waste disposal, and execute weekly radioactive wipe tests.
- Maintain complete department records, manage gas cylinder changes, and resolve pending sample lists.
- Operate laboratory computer systems and PCs in strict compliance with safety regulations and PPE protocols.
qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple duties efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong memory retention and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with internal and external teams.
- Proficiency using laboratory computer systems and standard PCs.
- Completion of Medical Assistant training or relevant vocational coursework.
- Previous academic coursework in mathematics and basic sciences.
