A Mechanical Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Newton, NC area. This role supports and leads mechanical engineering efforts for manufacturing line expansions by managing equipment installation, debugging, process improvements, and cross-functional coordination to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.

responsibilities:
- Maintain safe work practices and communicate safety concerns.
- Design and implement mechanical/process changes to enhance manufacturing capability.
- Manage activities to meet project milestones and deadlines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical/process issues using data analysis and collaboration.
- Identify and manage spare parts across a two-plant footprint.
- Develop and update documentation for engineering and operations.
- Support training of operations staff on new equipment and operational changes.
- Experience with project expansions and startup environments.
- Comfortable in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
- Quick learner of new technologies and processes.
- strong mechanical engineering fundamentals.
- Project leadership/management (milestone & budget oversight).
- Vendor/supplier management experience.
- CAD proficiency.
- Detail-oriented with minimal supervision required.
- Ability to multitask and independently prioritize in a fast-paced project install setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Associate's degree.
- Minimum 2 years in equipment installations in a manufacturing setting.
