A Quality Inspector in the Grand Rapids, MI area is needed for a multinational power management company. This role supports quality assurance through inspection of products and documentation, ensuring compliance with blueprints, GD&T, and industry standards like AS9102, using precision tools and Microsoft software in a manufacturing environment.

responsibilities:
- Reports to the Quality Supervisor.
- Provides inspection support for Receiving and Final Inspection, including during month-end shipment rush.
- Inspects products using manual tools: calipers, micrometers, plug and pin gauges, etc.
- Uses Windows-based applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word) proficiently.
- Reads and interprets blueprints and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Validates certified paperwork against blueprint specifications.
- Prepares First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in compliance with AS9102.
- Conducts Layered Process Audits and 5S audits on the assembly floor.
- Ensures a safe, productive environment that produces quality products.
- Proven experience in evaluating product compliance using specifications, blueprints, and GD&T.
- Documented experience in AS9102 First Article Inspections.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience within the last 5 years.
- Minimum 3 years in a quality department within the last 5 years.
