We are seeking candidates that have a Bachelor's degree within Metallurgy, Materials, Chemical, Mechanical or an Engineering related field. Candidates will need a minimum of 10 years of experience in technical management of product processes and applications in nickel or other metals industry. An ideal candidate will also have 5 years of supervisory industry experience.
Preferred skills include - high temperature nickel base superalloy melting or conversion experience. Proficient in 8D, SPC, MSA and PFMEA methodologies.

responsibilities:
- Implement operational, cultural, and behavioral transformation and maintain consistently high levels of product and process performance
- Plan, organize, and direct crossfunctional engineering groups to include process, product & laboratories.
- Drive leadership in maintaining and improving the technology base, continuously improving product quality, driving process control, and technical customer support
- Adhere technical leadership and support as required for all internal departments and external customer base
- Oversee & manage plants technical resources to best serve strategic needs
- Provide support and improve the locations primary (VIM), secondary melting (VAR and ESR), and Bar Mill operations
- Provide technical oversight of the raw material purchasing activities
- Drive interal leadership for quality image, as well as a reputation for quality products which customers can depend on to meet or exceed their expectations
- Define and establish appropriate monitoring and control systems (i.e. SPC) for key process parameters
- Direct and lead the necessary technical evaluations and projects to improve process control, improve product quality, improve yields, reduce costs, and reduce scrap
- Department liaison with the Quality Group and provide technical expertise to resolve any required claims and customer complaint investigations
- Budgetary responsibility for the Process and Product Engineering functions
- Capital development for the Process and Product Engineering functions
- Provide justification for capital expenditures to improve the business
- Provide and ensure technical support to Sales for contract and specification review
- Customer visits as required
