A Mechanical Technician in the Jackson, MI area is needed for a multinational power management company. This role performs mechanical and hydraulic testing of industrial products by setting up equipment, fabricating test components, and collecting performance data, while applying strong mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge in a lab or shop setting.

responsibilities:
- Review project instructions and blueprints to determine testing procedures and equipment requirements.
- Set up and perform tests according to test specifications, including equipment adjustments and data/sample handling.
- Create detailed sketches or drawings for fabricating testing equipment or setup components.
- Design, fabricate, and assemble mechanical parts or test setups for various industrial products (e.g., servo systems, power equipment, machine tools).
- Conduct hydraulic component testing to support customer performance requirements.
- Proficient in operating test equipment, data acquisition, and inspection tools.
- High mechanical aptitude.
- strong working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Ability to read prints and perform dimensional inspections.
- Comfortable using current and emerging technologies.
- Basic skills in mathematics, graph reading, and technical calculations.
- High school diploma required.
- Minimum 2 years of technical/laboratory experience or 4 years without degree/certification.
