A Buyer is needed for a company that transports, distributes and generates energy, with diversified assets that include a balance between crude oil and natural gas in the Houston, TX area. This job is responsible for leading end-to-end procurement processes, including RFx management, supplier negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration, to ensure efficient, compliant, and value-driven sourcing of goods and services.

responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end procurement processes in compliance with policies.
- Develop and execute RFx strategies to ensure competitive bidding.
- Issue and manage accurate purchase and service orders.
- Align procurement strategies with internal project requirements.
- Resolve complex procurement challenges with innovative solutions.
- Mentor and train junior procurement staff.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts to maximize value.
- Monitor market trends to inform purchasing decisions.
- Ensure accurate procurement documentation for compliance and audit purposes.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., SCMP, CSCP) required.
- 4+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or contracts.
- strong knowledge of supply chain systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Ability to influence without authority and apply strategic sourcing techniques.
- Excellent team communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience managing high volumes of requests in fast-paced environments.

- Superior communication skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts.
- Proficient in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
