An Instrumentation Commissioning Specialist is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Kennedy Space Center, FL area. The Instrumentation Commissioning Specialist supports NASA's Mobile Launcher 2 project by leading instrumentation testing, planning and executing commissioning activities, and ensuring systems meet stringent safety and verification standards throughout the design and commissioning phases.

responsibilities:
- Develops commissioning plans, procedures, test matrices, and temporary PLC configurations.
- Revises scoped drawings, subcontract packages, test plans, procedures, and schedules.
- Prepares Advanced Work Packages (AWPs) and Instrument Inspection & Test Records (ITRs).
- Supports engineering design through documentation and interface meetings.
- Assists in identifying spare parts and purchase requisition processes.
- Performs instrumentation testing, commissioning, and startup with NASA and contractors.
- Prepares and reviews all required testing and turnover documentation.
- Executes testing per company and project-specific procedures.
- Coordinates with supplier Technical Advisors (TAs) and controls TA budgeted time.
- Tracks daily work progress and reports to I&CS Lead.
- Generates design change and non-conformance documents.
- Eligible for a NASA badge (KSC access).
- In-depth instrumentation knowledge (control systems a plus).
- Understanding of safety regulations (LOTO, NFPA-70E).
- strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in: Instrument selection, installation, calibration, testing.
- PLC programming (Rockwell RSLogix 5000).
- Software: Excel, Word, Access.
- Test planning and execution using Setroute, TeamWorks.
- Prior NASA or aerospace commissioning experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's in Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 8-10 years of relevant experience, including at least: 5-7 years in instrumentation testing, calibration, and commissioning. 5 years in supervision of commissioning craft work.
